Renew a subscription

If you’re on a termed subscription — the only subscription option HCN offered prior to February 2024 — you need to take action ahead of your expiration date to continue your digital access or keep receiving the magazine.

You will receive email and mailed notices reminding you about your expiration date and providing ways for you to renew. And you can also renew at any time from your account dashboard.

Note: Your specific renewal notice may offer a discount if it is your first time renewing. Renewing via your account dashboard will not take into account that discount, so follow the instructions you’re mailed or emailed to take advantage.

Convert your termed subscription

You can add a new recurring subscription option at any time via your account dashboard. If you would like to apply the prorated balance of your existing termed subscription to your new recurring subscription, please contact our customer service team at (970) 527-4898 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MT Monday through Thursday or email support@hcn.org.

Switch to a digital subscription

If you currently receive the print magazine but would like to switch to digital access only, there are two options:

  • You may renew your current subscription as digital-only, so you continue receiving the issues of the magazine you signed up for until the end of your current term. On your renewal date, your subscription would switch to digital access only and delivery of the print magazine would stop.
  • You may cancel your current print subscription and sign up for a new digital subscription option as a replacement. This would immediately end your magazine deliveries regardless of how many are left in your term.

Option 1: Renew as a digital subscription

If you know or can find your subscription ID — you may see it printed on a mailed renewal notice or in an email message from us — you can use the tool below to help you renew as a digital-only subscription. Otherwise, you can contact our customer service team in Paonia, Colorado, at support@hcn.org or (970) 527-4898 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MT Monday through Thursday.

Enter your subscription ID in the space below then click the button to start the renewal process. Clicking the button will refresh the page and open a new modal window. You will be prompted to log in before proceeding.

Option 2: Cancel print deliveries immediately

  1. Log in to your account (click here to request a passwordless access link)
  2. Open your account dashboard
  3. Expand the Subscriptions section
  4. Find your current subscription — the plan name may be “1 Year Subscription with Delivery” — and click Cancel under Actions. Follow the prompts to complete the process.
  5. To select your digital-only replacement, click the + New Subscription button at the bottom of the Subscriptions section. Select Digital Membership and choose from the plan options. Follow the prompts to complete the process.
