THE SNAKE RUNS THROUGH IT
Lewiston
and Idaho Falls stand like bookends at either end of the Snake
River’s path through Idaho. Those two ends will converge Nov. 28-29
in Boise, Idaho, at Snake: the River Between Us, a conference about
the future of Idaho’s largest river. The meeting grows out of a
series of articles written in tandem by the Idaho Falls Post
Register and the Lewiston Tribune. Those articles explored a range
of issues, including recreation, wildlife, hydropower and
pollution, that will be covered by panels including Dan Beard,
former commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation; Idaho Gov. Phil
Batt and former Idaho Gov. Cecil Andrus, whose Andrus Center for
Public Policy is helping to sponsor the
event.
Registration costs $90; contact the Andrus
Center for Public Policy, P.O. Box 852, Boise, ID 83701

This article appeared in the print edition of the magazine with the headline The Snake runs through it.
