I am a longtime subscriber to HCN. The willingness to
address the political causes of land-management decisions in the
coverage of HCN was striking, with the selection of a new executive
director. But I believe that it is important. Politics is the
modus operandi of the corporations and their
political allies who recognize only the short-term economic value
of biologically productive land.
There are two purposes
served by the news: (1) to provide people with the information they
need to keep democracy alive, and (2) to bear witness to what is
happening, and to tell others about it. HCN is serving both of
these purposes well. You must continue in this vein. Our current
circumstances require it.
