Student Conservation Association interns will soon
have more than pretty pictures and increased conservation acumen to
show for their volunteer work in the nation’s parks, refuges and
forests. Starting in 2000, the group’s resource assistants will
also receive educational awards, ranging from $1,200 to $4,000,
depending on program length. The money is allocated through the
federal AmeriCorps program, and can be used to repay college loans
