Dear HCN,
I’m dismayed at the
anti-gun propaganda in your recent issue on hunting (HCN, 3/3/97).
Elizabeth Manning’s NRA-bashing diatribe was out of line.
The ignorance of those extolling gun control is
amazing; the matter of bullets capable of penetrating body armor is
a non-issue; many hunting bullets are capable of this. No policeman
has been killed by a bullet penetrating his body armor in the past
10 years; a “cop killer” is somebody who kills a policeman, not a
type of bullet.
Liberals will do almost anything
to avoid acting to defend society or to do what needs to be done;
they focus on “gun control,” which means disarming law-abiding
citizens, or blaming anyone or anything except the perpetrators of
criminal acts.
