Thank you to Paige Blankenbuehler for her recent article concerning wolf dispersal and Wyoming’s Green River corridor (“A Hostile Country,” October 2021). One passage I found particularly disturbing for its hypocrisy was the characterization of wolves as “vicious” and killing for fun. Although I am no expert in wolf behavior, the idea that they kill for fun seems debatable. Perhaps hunting in packs, they make kills, eat their fill, and then leave before they themselves are killed or have a chance to return to eat more. But many of those spouting this idea are themselves big game hunters, hunting for fun and, I would guess, not eating all they kill. Wolf-burgers, anyone?
