Paul Kiefer is a freelance journalist and was born and raised in Washington. He has covered homelessness among poultry workers in rural Delaware, addiction medicine and incarceration in the Pacific Northwest, and American sugar industry's methods for bypassing federal lobbying restrictions. He is currently a data reporter with the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park.
